SCIENCE:

Students began discussing the properties of an element and how to identify element as metals, non-metals, and metalloids. We also discussed how elements are used in the household and the environment. Students also briefly reviewed the parts of the periodic table. We closed class by creating a bar/pie graph using the elements and a short review.

HOMEWORK:

Create a T-chart listing 25 elements and their common uses in the household and environment. Finish bar/pie graphs of the elements if you did not finish this assignment in class.

READING:

Students finished reading the story “Thanksgiving With the Connors” and completed workbook pages 140–153.

HOMEWORK:

Complete the “Comparison and Contrast” graphic organizer distributed during class if you have not done so.

REMINDER: Tomorrow is LIBRARY DAY!!!!!!!
